I'm using SolidWorks to verify some calculation of centroids and area moments of inertia. In doing so I sketch on the front plane and position the sketch with respect to the coordinate system, the same way as in my calculations. When extruding the sketch and subsequently using Tools -> Section...
I have plotted a function of two variables as a 3D surface. The function has two critical points and I would like to be able to insert these points as large dots on the plot, but I havn't been able to figure out how to do this.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you for the replies. I guess y' and y'' will have to do, although they usually do mean derivative with respect to x.
How do you type y' and y'' in mathcad? I don't seem to be able to write a regular ' as Mathcad just adds parentheses around the varibale when I hit the key. Perhaps it's...
I would like to be able to put both one and two dots above x or y for time derivatives in Mathcad. Is this possible? I have been able to place two dots above a 'y' using the Windows Charmap, but it's really a poor solution.
Thank you in advance.
Hi again,
Being from Scandinavia I don't have Roark, sorry. I believe it's mainly used in the US?
I do have formulas for a flat plate supported on two edges, but don't think they apply here. Perhaps I wasn't clear about how the part looks in my first post. Here is a picture of a scissor lift...
Thank you for the quick response, I will continue down this path then.
I havn't been able to locate a formula for this type of shell calculation. Do you know of any? I would like to verify my results by hand calculations.
Hello,
I'm experimenting a bit with Cosmos, trying to find the deflection in a tabletop/platform for a scissor lift.
I have made some split lines on the bottom that I'm using for supports (where the arms are connected). For now I'm assuming the load is uniform.
Am I going about this the...
