Hi all, When selecting 'Load all Defaults' in NX is it loading the defaults from the Site or User defaults? And is this controllable? Many thanks

    Mirror a surface help required

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can assist me? If I have a surface and have modelled half (a car bonnet for example) and I want to mirror the other half, how can I ensure the 2 halves are in curvature (G2). I was told that some other CAD packages allow you to put an implied mirror constraint...

    Materials

Hi all, I've read through the posts I can find on material creation in NX (7.5) and they indicate that I should be modifying the XML file. However, shouldn't I be able to create materials from within NX using the Tools - Materials - Manage Materials? Some of the documentation I've found...

    Drawing border template

I'm also getting another weird issue :( The template has attributes in like this (<W@DB_PART_DESC>) which work fine. However, when I add them to older drawings use File-Import-Part then selecting the template some of them go a bit strange (see below) <WUGII-UGII-ANON-5.PRT@?BDR_TITLE2>

    Drawing border template

Good morning everyone, I'm hoping someone can help with this, a drawing border template has been created and parts of it have been done using sketching. The problem is when I now go New-Drawing and select it when it appears on my screen the sketch is active. Any thoughts appreciated.

Any Limits to the NX7 Material Properties List (phys_material.dat)

Possibly some of it, I was just wondering whether it may simplify editing/adding new materials via notepad.

Any Limits to the NX7 Material Properties List (phys_material.dat)

OK thanks, is it important to keep ALL the information within the XML? For example could I remove the bits below and things still work correctly? <PropertyData property="MatlNonlinearityType"> <Data format="integer">1</Data> </PropertyData> <PropertyData...

    Custom Parts list

Hi all, I've modified my parts list and saved it as a template (NX7.5) but when I then put it in as my default parts list : TCIN mode in customer defaults it is not finding it. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? It works if I try it in Native. Thanks

Any Limits to the NX7 Material Properties List (phys_material.dat)

Thanks I'll give that a try, is it not possible to create new materials to the site standard file from within NX? I only seem to be able to do that for local materials.

Any Limits to the NX7 Material Properties List (phys_material.dat)

I'm really struggling just to add a new material to the xml file. I've tried editing it in excel but it doesn't let me save it :( I also tried added/creating my materials within NX but it only seems to save it for me and not site.
