    Rotate command dismissing?

Hi, Up until ST, when I use the rotate (or move) command in DRAFT, I could rotate items one at a time without having to reselect the command. Now, it seems to want to dismiss to rotate (or move) tool after each use. If the copy option is selected it remains active. Any ideas how to keep the...

    Arc smoothness

Here is a screen shot of what the arcs look like. All items here should have a smooth curve to them. Prior to SE20 I could easily display very smooth arcs on models. No idea what has changed. I am getting these results on two different machines...

    Arc smoothness

Hi, I did try that, same results. The rough arcs make it very challenging to work!

    Arc smoothness

Hi, Since moving up to SE20 I have found that I can not get arcs to display smoothly in a model. I have the "Sharpness" setting at 5, yet the display of a curved item displays as lines. I have the same issue on my office machine, which uses a high end nVidia Quadro FX card, so I don't think...

    SolidWorks to SolidEdge Relearning Curve

The Autocad simulator (DWGEditor) is what was recommended to us by our VAR after showing them what we require in 2D drawings. We produce parts to be laser cut that start as a 3D model, but require extensive work in 2D prior to sending to the laser. The resulting shapes being cut can't be...

    SolidWorks to SolidEdge Relearning Curve

Hi, I am in exactly the opposite position, spent the last 4 years using SolidEdge and am now transitioning to SolidWorks. I can say I have had the exact same reaction to it, I find SolidWorks very frustrating to use. I know exactly how to accomplish a task in SE, but when I try to model...

Rebuilding a part while editing a Design Table?

Hi, Is it possible to have a part rebuild while still editing the design table? I am doing a lot of "what if" design and would like to make numerous changes while still in the design table and see what the resulting part will look like. It is a major pain to have to dismiss the Design Table...

    Driving/Driven dimentions

Hi, Thanks! Once again you have saved me from an afternoon of trouble shooting. This did the trick. I have no idea how it got switched as I don't believe I have ever used that feature before. Tim

    Driving/Driven dimentions

Help. For some reason all the dimensions in SE are defaulting to driven and I am unable to drive them via a variable. The driving/driven button is grayed out and I can not seem to find any other location where this can be controlled. Anyone else have this happen? I tried to search the forum...

    Wheels on curved rail

No, I was never able to get this to work so I went a different direction with the drawing. It was for a presentation and I was able to do it with a straight length of rail. I too was getting the message that the loop has to be closed to work. Patrick, was your example similar to what I was...

    Driving dimentions in draft

Is it possible to have a dimension drive a line in draft like it is in part? There is a button for this, but it is locked out. -T

    Wheels on curved rail

Thats what I was hoping, but I can not get it to work. It needs to be a closed loop, like a cam, for this to work, and since it isn't a loop but a length of rail it can not place this relationship. Unless I am doing something wrong. T.

    Wheels on curved rail

Hi, I am trying to make an assembly with a set of wheels that can be rolled (or moved) along a section of curved rail. I need to be able to roll the wheels back and forth for demonstration. It is possible to do this? I have tried various relationships but have not been able to get this to...

    Assembly Relationships

I guess I should read the other responses first. This is the same technique suggested by Kyle....

    Assembly Relationships

Another possibility I have had success with is to show all the reference planes for both items, and using planer align align all the planes, not the edges. Note, this will only work if both parts were drawn centered to the planes in the .par files. Tim
