Thanks to all for your input. Sounds as though larger assemblies would prove problematic as I suspected. Drawoh seems to have hit the nail on the head in that the creation of subs helps, as it does with bottom up construction. Great concept if the necessary power could be applied. Thanks again...

Hi all, Anybody heavy into top down design techniques? I understand the differences between it and bottom up but havent tried it on large assemblies(>1000 parts). Anyone have thoughts regarding performance?

It does work as listed. I was trying to add F11 as well. It does not seem to want to toggle the full screen view

There are no display states in SW2009 for parts. This is an addition in 2010. My VAR was confused. What a surprise. Thanks all.

Thanks handleman the macro works but the first three times I hit the shortcut hides each one at a time, the fourth time on the shortcut brings them all back. I'm no API wizard but doesnt the code instruct all off at the same time?

Hi all, F9 hides feature manager, F10 hides toolbars, Crtl-F1 hides design library. Can a macro do all three, and undo with one key? Not having luck creating. Thanks SW2009 sp3.0

Also, If I suppress the top,front and side mates holding the sub in plce at the tl, it works. It appears the conflict is between these mates but why now

CBL I have the sub set to flexible, mated to a top,front side to keep it in place in the tl. I can move parts of the sub that need to move by dragging. I cannot define a fixed height by mating to an offset tl plane. Curiously enough I have been doing it that way for months in this assembly.
