So the firm I work at currently has a PE stamp on all of our piping Isometrics. Is this required by code? My understanding was that most companies just stamp the stress analysis calculations/report and do not stamp the actual ISOs.
These are extemelly small pressures we are working with. I have decided to input the vessel parameters into PV elite. Even though the vessel is not an ASME vessel and would not pass all the requirements of an ASME Section VIII vessel....I can still analyze it's components per that code.
In...
I have been asked to calculate the ratings (internal and external pressure) of two existing, UNSTAMPED day tanks.
I am trying to figure out which code to apply...but the tanks do not seem to fit any of them
they are small 100 gallon vessels....lug supported....have a conical bottom....welded...
I have been tasked with calculating the vacuum rating for two existing pressure vessels. Both vessels have been stamped but only list the MAWP and have no information for Vacuum or external pressure. Is this as simple as performing the Maximum Allowable External Pressure calculations from UG-28...
1) If I understand you correctly....you are saying that for the variable (t)...I should use the actual thickness of the flange instead of the required thickness? That doesn't make sense to me b/c that will produce a larger required reinforcement area....when having a flange thicker than the...
I have been asked to review a planned modification to a vessel.
The vessel currently has a 22" flange that is blinded off with a bolted 22" 300# flange. I can't find much data on 22" flange sizes as they are not a standard size.
They are planning to cut a hole in the center of the blind flange...
The current loops are both burried in the ROW and there are a few that come out of the ground in a very tight loop and go directly back in (something I thought was very strange)
The line is quite high pressure....and will be hydro'd around 5500 to 6000
They are using 5R hot bend fittings...I...
Limited experience with underground piping systems
good experience modeling piping in Caesar
As stated before I have limited experience with underground piping...minus modeling small sections of in-plant piping. but the stress loop designs I am incorporating are similar to examples I have seen...
Hi all,
I have picked up a project from a client on the backend and having to go back and look at some of the aspects of the design that were not fully considered. The client is installing a new 8" water injection pipeline. The line runs at approximatelly 175 deg F and 4200 psig. When I came...
