Title says it all really - have checked it with ASME Section II part D, and ANSI B16.34 for calculations and currently we can't certify it for the pressures/temps my customer requires.
Problem is the specs provided by the customer are NORSOK and STATOIL, so are they likely to be wrong?
I can't...
I did actually find that reference, but it throws up another question which may be better off in the valve section...ASME B16.5 doesn't reference either ASTM std in the section for acceptable fixing material. So is there a history to F788 / F836?
Apologies if I should now leap across to valves...

Thank you - had a slight wobble between CF3M and CF8, couldn't get hold of relevant people very quickly to answer question so thought I would post on here.
We usually deal with CF8M, hence the hesitation over the different specs.
Just needed quick advice that's all!
Thanks again
I would like to say thank you for taking the time to answer this question - however perhaps a simple no would have done.
We don't pull the wool over our customer's eyes and it is their responsibility when the question is asked to find out if the engineers will accept the material.
Many thanks...

Our customers do this to a lot - send us a datasheet with forging specs listed and ask us to supply castings. I don't think saying this to them will go down very well!
We normally use NORSOK as a point of reference however they don't list the "L" requirement.
Thanks anyway.
We are looking for a company who can attend our site to carry out 4 point ferrite scope testing. Currently the only people we can find are Bodycote and would really like to know if there is anyone else please...
Thank you!
Thanks Chris, we are sorted now as we have another sub contract machine shop who purchase a large amount of material from you, so we shouldn't get this problem again.
However I will keep you address on file for future reference!
Many Thanks for your response

Yes we know there are numerous stockists in the UK but they don't have the required diameter - we are waiting for a reply from an Australian supplier - just wondered if anyone knew of a specific supplier who keeps reasonable stock.
Just been informed that the UK manufacturer of Zeron 100 material has no stock of required diameter for the next 8 weeks. I have an order due out in 10 weeks!!!!!
Any ideas where else to go to get this material (worldwide)?
Many Thanks
Customer has no idea which material to use, product is triple offset butterfly valve - example of alkali service was given as caustic soda (ph 13).
Looking through PMAs only an Cy40 material mentions alkali service so need some guidance please!
Thank You!
