I am currently running a transient analysis in ANSYS where a time-varying point load is applied to a structure. On running the analysis with ' small transient displacement' a result is output. however, on running the identical analysis with large transient displacement in the solution control...

I realise that applying the time varying load via a table is the way to go. However, on creating a 1-D table with TIME as VAR1 and FZ (or FORCE). I then edit the Table and input the time and force required.
On applying the load on a node of my model ANSYS produces an error, stating...
I used a young's modulus of 210e9 and a von mises of 0.3
however, I have only used the linear elastic isotropic material model
I noticed yesterday that I have not included a non-linear model! I understand the tangent modulus is the gradient of the stress strain curve but where can I find a value...

do you by any chance have a tutorial explaining how to input a time variant load in table form because I have looked in ANSYS help and that seemed to confuse me more (via the GUI interface)
I have just carried out some analyses on thin plates under a centred point load on both elastic shell 63 and plastic shell 43. The output from ANSYS showed that the VMS for elastic 63 > VMS plastic all other variables remaining unchanged.
Does anyone know how to justify this?
Thanks for any...
I have a table in excel with the load i want to apply over time. how can I import this into ansys workbench? I tried converting it to txt and xml but so far i have been unsuccessful
I am trying to model a point load in the middle of a steel plate. The load must change over time, initially it will be 1GN then it must increase to 4GN and then ease off back to the constant 1GN (the force should act like a parabola when increasing and easing off).
I tried to model this in a...
