In streight pipe with a e.joints, the pressure trust transmited to the anchors is P*A
In dischae nozzle of a púmp , compressor or turbine, the pressure trust is P*A or P*( ex.joint bellows transversal area - pipe internal area ) ?

The decision is a tecnico economical mater.
For small vessels the steel savings that you can get when selecting the Div 2, do nor pay the 100% radiography and the additional engineering cost.But in a bigger vessel loke 400 m3, you can save nearltyy 30 % of the steel and can be wortwhile.

I propose to measure the piping vibration as a first step. that is amplitude in function of frecuency, and use it as a forced frecuency.After that to perform an harmonic analysis and a modal as well.Then you can obtain the acelerations of the pipe for the actual conditions.
Try to add some...
I have solver many pipe vibrations problems due of autoinduced control valves vibrations.
It is important to check the control valve, because when it is operating in a choked or cavitating conditions, it generates a lot of vibration.In many cases , we were forced to change the valve, when...
Regarding the momentum variation forces , they are applied to the elbows as well, and to its center at 45°.
When you have waterhammer,the delta P calculated should be applied simultaneously to all the fittings if a static analisis is performed with a stress analysis program as Cessars ...
For allowable load at support, the following formula can be used :
- Pa = Sh.texp1.5 b/1.8 sqrtR
Pa = allowable load at the support
t = effective thickness ( pipe wall + pad ) (inches )
b = bearing length of pipe (along the pipe axis)on the support structure
Sh =...
Thank you anyway
My concern was related with the existence of some local code or engineeering practice that avoids to use welder Cr Moly for high temperaturs.
Actually,I have found that in general a linear analysis gives higher stresses than a non linear, but the loads results higher in a non linear .(because considers gaps and friction).These statements are based in loads combinations that include thermal+ sustained loads, and seismic loads combined...
Which type of piping stress analysis to choose ? : linear or non linear ?
I nderstand that the nonlinear ( for suports and for friction ) simulates the real case more acuratelly

recomended or some code hydrotest pressure for gravity and pressure FRP piping
There is a 3500 m long pipe.Recomended length to be tested each time (1.5 m diameter ).To intall headers in each extreme of the pipe or a flange ?
Sorry so many questions

The usual way to select a diameter for a process line with a given flow is by starting with a given optimum economical velocity, and selecting the diameter with :
D = Square root ( Flow*4/Pi*Vec ).
Common carbon steel economical velocities are between 1,5 m/s and 2,5 m/s.But FRP is more...
