"metra-Flex" is a listed flexible grooved connection that I have used in the past at bldg expansion joints, floating dock separation, etc.

close one of the outlets to get a correct pitot gage reading, I am not sure of the formula but just like getting a reading from the 4 1/2" outlet you have to adjust the pitot gage psi reading bt a coefficient multiplyer to get a correct gpm, not just double it or add together.

no bid, designing, the owner is the installer - yes headaches galore...gonna go with sch. 10 galvanized as they won't go under the dock (scubba painter) to paint pipe and won't find breakage, leaks until it's used.

I have a floating dock, several - actually 1400' long with 400' spurs, am doing a dry standpipe. question is rather than use galvanized pipe couldn't I just have it painted and meet the corrosion requirements, all grooved items are factory painted, metra-flex fire loop at all...
First off if the lower level spacing is the greater of the two or you are dropping down with say 1" lines you need to prove this pipe sizing. usually when in doubt I do an additional set of calc's. Now as to the stair, it is enclosed with a 2hr wall and door right, so it's a separate fire area...
Travis, I didn't get into it real deeply, but I found it overwhelming, considering I've been using AutoCAD LT since like 1998, for piping it had alot of commands and symbols, and seemed to be geared for a nice 3D and cooridantion, however it's commands were stacked with alot of electrical and...
true, true that was in the early stages. 80's -then Central got bought out and Labor allowance became a conditional documented (lets say 1 yr arbitration) and most contractors rightly opted out as no pay no fix

Well I had nothing better to do..according to NFPA 13 2010 9.1.1.6.6 The ring, strap or Clevis installed on a pipe trapeze...just as in the 2002 edition as stated above, however the sizing of rods is absent...

What gets me is even though the CPSC mandated a recall how did Tyco (the receiver of omega o ring heads from Central) get away with only providing replacement parts (heads) and not labor? A lot of companies I know of quit selling this idea as the owner (rightfully) wasn't going to pay twice for...
I stand by the statement that 2 hanging points (on the trapeze) = enough to hang the main...SD2 what does it say in the handbook/appendix? and what you say is true than you are hanging a 2" trapeze with 6" rings all around right..someone sometime got into this and the listed hanging capability...
