    Brushless DC Motor

Looking at the voltage and currents waveform during start-up, the currrent limit kicks in at about 0.7A, the motor runs for a second or 2 and then the OTP comes on intermittently and then after maybe 5 - 10 sec the motor will get up to full RPM. The motor driver is a sensorless motor driver...

    Brushless DC Motor

Hi, Hope someone can advise here. I have a DC Brushless Motor controlled by a Motor Driver IC. The motor is used to drive a fan in refrigerator. There is a Current Limit and Over Temperature Protection (OTP) built into the motor driver IC. The problem is that on start-up the OTP is triggered...

    IC in Brushless Motor Application

Can anyone tell me how many poles this Brushless motor application has by looking at it. One application has 9 different segments of Windings on the Stator all bound in groups of 3. There are 3 connections to the PCB. Does this mean it is a 3 pole motor. The other application has 6 connections...

    IC in Brushless Motor Application

Hi - Hope someone can help. I have a IC motor driver in a brushless dc motor which rotates a fan. I have 2 type failure modes on same application with different internal circuitry - 2 different end applications. Failure 1: When I power the motor, it is stalled, there is large current been drawn...

    FuseLink on Battery Control Wire

On the Control wire from Alternator to Battery, I currently have a fuse link (14AWG)and teh Control wire is 10AWG. There is a significant voltage drop associated with the fuse link. Can anyone advise how I can reduce this resistance.

    Battery Specification

I am developing a battery specification for an Automotive application which I can give to Battery suppliers and get them to advise Battery's that will meet this specification. Also within this spec, I want to deifine the tests that I the customer will perform to qualify the battery. Can I have...

    Battery Vibration Test

I am currently looking at designing a Battery in a Transport Refrigeration unit application. Due to space constraints, I have to mount the battery vertically. As part of the vertical mounting, I will be doing a shaker table vibration test. How should I check the battery after the test and what...

    Alternator Test

I am currently looking at qualiying an Alternator from a Vendor called Magneton. It is a 14V/37A. I am looking for guidelines on tests to be performed and measurements taken etc etc. Anything you can suggest will be helpful. Also, are there any good websites with theory on Alternators. Thanks...

    Motor Winding Temperature Measurement

Can anyone explain in Detail the process for measuring motor winding tempertaure using the change in resistance method. I believe there is a formula to calculate same - hence if someone can provide and explain the formula and its parameters and also the process for taking readings. Many Thanks...

    Overload Relay Validation

The overload relays are Schneider relays: P/N's LRD22LS and LRD3357. There is an online electronic catalogue on website http://www.schneider-electric.com/ Which gives data sheets.

    Overload Relay Validation

Hi all. Happy New year to everyone. I am in the process of changing overload relays on 15hp 3phase electric motor - reason is current relay is going end of life. Electrically the spec on the replacement is identical, however I guess I should be performing some sort of validation/verification...
