1. SNLs are indefinitely supported too, however keep in mind there is a dongle (hardware lock). Future PC hardware may not support it (unlikely that would happen for at least 10 years). As you approach the end of your subscription, SolidWorks will send you an e-mail that your subscription is...
In wiring summaries in 2007, it was possible to set the connectors to show a 'fan out' of wires to the corresponding pins.
2008 now has the 'Flatten Route' capability which is awesome!. However, it does not show the individual wire-to-pin geometry nor is there a 'fan out' option. Does anyone...
The skeleton suggestion is a good one. Take it a step further. You do not need to create a skeleton 'part'. You can create an assembly level sketch that is not a part. We've done this quite a bit for structural (weldments) since those types of files are sketch driven anyway.
Here's another tip:
1. Create a physical simulation in SolidWorks
2. Calculate the simulation
3. In Animator, click on the animation wizard
4. Select Physical Simulation
This will put your physical simulation on a timeline which you can then edit.
Another way to do this is to get a list of processes that are running. This is useful if you want to check if multiple processes of the same application are running. This can happen quite easily in SolidWorks if you are not careful with object instantiation.
Below is the code in C# to do this...
