Solidworks Equivalent to AutoCAD "DIV" Command?

I did the circular array and then made the points coincident with the arc endpoints (and one other random point coincident with the arc). This worked pretty well for what I needed. Jraoul - thank you for the macro and links. I'll have to check them out as soon as I can. Thanks Guys

Solidworks Equivalent to AutoCAD "DIV" Command?

I have an arc and I am trying to split it into 13 segments (or place 12 points evenly spaced). Currently I draw 13 straight lines along the curve and then make them all equal to each other. Is there an easier way to do this? I was hoping there is a SolidWorks equivalent to AutoCAD's "DIV"...

    Specs for A217-WC6

I am trying to find information regarding A217-WC6. I have discovered that it is a casting spec, but I can not find any specifications. Can someone point me in the right direction and point me to a book that would list the specifications for A217 Grade WC6? I also need to know what procedures...

    Changing Drawing Paper Image

I didn't necessarily want to get rid of the picture, but I did find what I needed from the link you gave, thank you. I expected it to be similar to changing the document background. I geuss that's why I missed it.

    Changing Drawing Paper Image

Since I installed SW2008 I noticed that drawings have a picture to make it look real. It kind of looks like crinkled paper. Where is the option to change the image used? I've looked in the help but all I can find is the background image which is behind the paper space.

Zoom to Fit Not Working With Isometric View

I don't think it is any stray entity causing this. Here is another part with the same results. I didn't even use any dimensions or reference geometry. I think it's a flaw in the program. I've never noticed it before so it might be a 2008 issue...

Zoom to Fit Not Working With Isometric View

I was messing around with the attached part and zoom to fit is not working properly (see picture). Isometric view is not centering the view, and is instead pushing my part to the top right of the screen. This first linear pattern is pushing the model to the right side of the screen, and the...

Welding Incoloy 825 and 316 stainless steel

Is it acceptable to weld Incoloy 825 to 316 together? I know that's a broad term, but any information would be appreciated. Can anyone offer any advice on, or references for welding disimilar metals like this?

Howto: Apply Temperature to Entire Body

I finally figured it out. If you click selection filter and select "solid bodies" you can then select the body itself. As YoundMechEngineer pointed out you can use the design tree to select parts for assemblies and bodies for multibody parts. However you must use the selection filter for a...

A514 Gr. E - Mech. Properties at elevated temp

Thank you very much. I actually do have a copy handy. I waded through all the tables and found everything I needed except for poisson's ratio. The only table with poisons ratio (or modulus of rigidity) was TABLE NF-1 which contains a small list of non-ferrous metals. Would you mind giving me...

A514 Gr. E - Mech. Properties at elevated temp

does anyone know where I can get mechanical properties for A514 Grade E at elevated temperatures (650°F)? Specifically I need the following properties... Elastic Modulus Poisson's Ratio Density Ultimate Tensile Strength Yield Tensile Strength Thermal Expansion Coefficient

Howto: Apply Temperature to Entire Body

My problem is that there is nothing to select if the part is only one body.

Deifne a Report -> "Exception Thrown"

I can't seem to define a report since I installed 2008. When I try to make one, I get an error that state "Exception Thrown". Anyone have a fix for this?

Howto: Apply Temperature to Entire Body

The only way I figured out is to make the part into a multibody part. I can then select the two bodies and apply a temperature. It seems wierd that I have to do it this way.

    Reporting results

This is a big problem for me. I print to PDF and forward that. Sometime I will often reinsert the pictures and make them part of the file.
