TateJ: I think using the word "image" was misleading.
Hopefully this will clarify. I'm working on the drawing for Part A (not an Assembly) and want to insert a Isometric View of Part B (for reference only) but then not worry if the Part B Model is deleted or placed in a different location on...
I would like to use a SolidWorks model to put a Model View in the drawing for another part as a reference image, and then unlink it from the model. I'm creating drawings where I want to show what the mating part will look like but I don't want to provide the model. Is this possible?
I'm very interested in the same type of solution but prefer something permanent. Although selecting a footer in the print dialog of SW works, it requires being set each time a drawing is printed. By default I want to print drawings with the time and a more detailed file name.
We want to put a OLE Object (bitmap image) on a layer which we can turn on and off, but it appears they can't be assigned to a specific layer.
Is there a way to assign an object to a specific layer?
I'm trying to figure out how to open an E-drawing in Powerpoint. I would like to open the E-drawing, press play and have the part rotate thru the views in my presentation. I'm inserting the E-drawing on a slide as an object but nothing happens when I get to the slide. Any suggestions? Thanks,
PaulnKY, good question. I've wondered the same thing myself. It would be nice to find a list of parameter names for a model. There are several features that are difficult to find the name for.
Thanks for the offer APPENG. For now I'm going to investigate some other options. The features I'm working with is a Swept Cut which appears to be rather complex for SW. It takes about 5-6 steps to create. I've tried making it a Library Feature, but it won't accept it. I've tried using the...
Thanks, I've figured out those options. I was just looking for ways to get consistant naming of features as done by multiple users, and to speed up the process by not having to name on creation.
There are a couple Features we use to create shapes unique to our product, primarily Swept Cut. We use this to create a feature we call a "Flexure". Can I rename the Swept Cut Button to "Flexure" such that the name "Flexure" shows up in the Feature Tree?
