Hi,
I have imported a complicated sketch into solidworks in dxf format. It has a point (its centre) which I need to make coincident with the centre point of my main drawing axis. However when I do this it moves only the sketch centre point but not the rest of the sketch.
My question is: can...
Hi all, quick question:
When I create drawings from parts that have a lot of fillets, the edges of the fillets are imported into the drawings. Is there any way to stop this happening other than to use the 'hide edge' button to manually remove each one?
Thanks
It is for a special test piece only. The vendor is a long standing and reliable supplier to our company - they just don't usually need any files from us hence I have not come across this problem before with them.
I am fully aware that a supplier who does not accept a variety of model formats is...
Update:
I emailed Atemi in France and they sent me a plug in which works with Solidworks 2008 and creates a simply button that exports the selected model to dxf.
Hi Trevor,
Thanks for the reply. It seems strange to me too that they would request this format (as you say, x_t, step or iges are usually fine) but they have specifically requested dxf, stating that it is what they are used to using...
Hi, I have been requested to supply a 3D solid dxf model to a supplier so that they can use it for their cnc machining but Solidworks (2008 version) does not seem to be able to 'save as' dxf (except for drawings).
Is there a way of doing this? I downloaded an application from a French company...
Thanks for your input guys, problem solved :)
It does seem a bit strange to me that there is no option to link two parallel reference axis with a reference plane...
Hi, wondering if anyone can help me. I cannot work out how to create an angled reference plane (when the angle is not known).
If I have two parallel ref planes, and another two ref planes intersecting them at 90° which are also parallel with each other, I can create four separate parallel ref...
After tinkering around for a while I realised that:
a) ALL numbers must be to the same number of decimal places (or at least you cannot have some numbers with and some without a decimal point).
b) SW won't accept a 0,0,0 point.
Got my curves imported now - thanks for the advice :)
Thanks, that looks promising, I hadn't tried that. I have managed to get a simple curve working but it seems that it won't let me import numbers with a decimal point. Do you know if that is something solidworks can't handle or is it something I am doing wrong?
Thanks again!
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with importing csv/txt files into Solidworks 2008? Is it possible? I have some very complex curves which I want to turn into 3D models.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks as always CBL!
The line colour tool was the problem, default had been deselected on all the white dimensions/notes. Not sure how it has happened on all my drawings but at least I know how to sort it now.
Cheers.
