As the subject suggests, what do people here prefer to use to calculate ground surface movement (ys)? And if you do use atterberg limits, whats the extent of your correlations between the atterberg and Iss from the shrink swell?
Just want to clarify my calculations for working out the surcharge for a Shrink Swell in kPa.
Is it the weight of the surcharge in Kg over the area of the ring in meters² then times 9.8 for gravity?
With the pocket penetrometers that has the dial gauge reading kg/cm² and reads from 1 - 6 on the face and using a Plunger dia of 6.35mm, is each reading on the dial in kPa. So for example 2 on the dial = 200kPa ??
