Barinder Grinding Unit From Roberts Sinto

Does anyone have any experience with the Barinder unit from Roberts Sinto? [bat]

    Tensile Strength

Good Morning, I've recently become immersed in a raging debate as to what has the largest influence on Tensile Strength of an extruded product (in this case PA6/6 on a 58mm twin). It has been my understanding that material porosity, resulting from inadequate devolitization and moisture...

VPI versus Traditional Dipping & Baking

First, I would like to thank all you for your valuable insight and advice. Regarding the condition of the commutator, it apparently had a burnt appearance. A vibro analysis has since shown that there was excess vibration on the output end present at start-up. Maintenance records have shown...

VPI versus Traditional Dipping & Baking

We have recently experienced a motor failure which resulted in a full re-wind (bar stock) of the armature of a 400 hp DC motor. The motor manufacturer recommended the VPI process, however, that would have extended the repair by 48 hours (according to the service provider). We instead went with...

Looking at TriLogi PLC.. any other low cost alternatives?

Probably a bit late joining the conversation, but AB Micrologix 1000 & 1200 are also reasonably priced. The 1000 is fixed I/O, the 1200 fully expandable (including analog).

    PLC SIL Definition

dogleg43, SIL = Safety Integrity Level, check out this link for clarification (about 1/2 way down the page): http://domino.automation.rockwell.com/Applications/kb/kb.nsf/0/5827ad9495bb2d00852568c1006af32e?OpenDocument [bomb]

    HMI Application using VB6.0

djs, Thanks for the excellent information. I agree; my goal is not to re-invent the wheel, therefore, you have just saved me a lot of time and energy. Cheers! [cheers]

    HMI Application using VB6.0

rubha, thanks for getting back to me. Have you ever used SDK or Gateway? The single-node, as you said, is good for DAQ, but is it good the other direction? Does it allow RSLinx to become the DDE client and the API to become the DDE server? Can't tell I'm reading the 'RSLinx Getting Results...

    HMI Application using VB6.0

Good Morning, I would like to ask a simple question, which will hopefully generate an equally simple answer. What link is needed to link a VB6.0 user interface with a PLC (specifically AB Micrologix Series C). I have heard of ActiveX DLL Drivers etc. but, as an Industrial programmer only, this...

    Manufacturing Process Effectivity

What are you evaluating, total asset utilization (total machine availability minus planned / unplanned downtime) or available up-time (machine readiness from maintenance stand-point)? Most companies have mutually exclusive goals in both areas, although available up-time can dictate and infringe...

    Process mapping software

Another excellent program to use for flow application is MS Visio. It has flow chart, block diagram, org. chart and office layout capabilities. Similar to Project, it also makes concession for project planning e.g. Gantt charts and manhour cost estimates. [noevil]

Portable moisture meter for plastic granulates - Where?

I'm not certain that this wiould give the required accuracy for raw material moistures (re: a specification limit for incoming inspection), however, this link provides info on some hand held units. http://techinstrument.com/humidityindex.html [noevil]

Twin Screw Element Wear Effects on Tensile / Flex. Mod.

I was wondering if anyone knows if / what relationship exists between wearing ZME (WP thermal mixing element) elements and the resulting tensile strength of a given product. Is it a gradual effect as seen with a single screw mixer, or is it immediate? We recently had an issue regarding a 50%...
