Please,
can someone indicates a CO analyzer for a high purity hydrogen stream (product of a PSA unit)?
The resolution needed is in the ppm level.
Thanks

Hi, Maddocks.
You did get the idea.
Dräger tubes can be used for estimates, however I don't know how it reacts in H2S stripper top gases.
In the catalog is not clear how the concentration of the species interfere (H2S and NH3) in the result.
It's said that the indication is not affected by...

Hi,
is there any method for determining H2S and NH3 in the gas stream of a sour water unit, specially a 2 towers plant?
I wish to evaluate the amount of NH3 that is being carried over from the H2S stripper to the SRU's.
Best regards [cheers]

Folks,
is there any standard, calculation or rule of thumb that specifies the minimum purge gas flow for instrumentation and flame detectors in furnaces? In some applications, like sulphur recovery units, this can be crucial, because if the flow is low, sulphur/ash may deposit in the sensor's...
S!
In a sulphur recovery unit was found greenish sulphur in one of the seal legs.
The SRU process acid gas from a Sour Water Stripper and a Amine Unit.
There are suspicion of ammonia contamination from SWS or even DEA from Amine unit.
Anyone faced similar problem?
S!
I have to estimate the flow rate of purging gas, air in this case, to keep some sighting glasses and instrumentation wells in a furnace. An older engineer told that is necessary to keep a superficial velocity (flow rate/internal area of the pipe) equals to 1 m/s, but he is not sure about this...

Hum, I see.
Here we have a composition of the alternatives. The heat duty control loop uses a cascade control. The steam inlet (t/h) sets the set point of the level in the condensate drum. The level control manipulates the condensate's outlet valve.
What would be the main mechanism behind?
Thanks
S!
I'm kind lost about the principles behind a thermosiphon steam reboiler. I'm mean: when it's necessaty to increase the heat duty, normally, in a steam flow/reboiler level cascade control strategy, the set point of the reboiler level is decreased. The resulting increase of heat duty is...
