Ok, my question is: if |T|>|T|Run away poin, is the motor accelerating, also if is it in generating mode?
@itsmoked Motor not engine....
Of course :-)
I am interesting about operation of asynchronous engine in escalators moving down. Is the engine working as generator? If so, can an overload beyond maximum couple cause an escalator overspeed? Moreover, in generator operation, is the energy lead into grid or dissipated in a rhesostat? Thank for...
A three-phase 11 kV aerial line on metal supports must be transferred to the new higher metal supports substantially in line with earlier. The supply line must be kept available, although of course out of service, during the raising of the new poles, but one of the phases goes to touch them. It...
>electricpete ... how does a cloud get charged ...
The clouds get charged by friction between particles due to convective movements. I don't think clouds are comparable to conducting bodies. However I will ask more information about environmental conditions.

>jghrist ... the beam got charged with static electricity ...
I have some difficulty imagining the physical phenomenon. The beam suspended and that placed on the ground are both conductors (not dielectric as rubber etc.) and not connected to emf, so...

In these cases would be the induction magnetic, not electric. Right?

In these cases it is...
>Marmite (Electrical) ... line runs in parallel with other lines ...
There aren't any lines nearby. There was an arc between a metal beam, suspended by a crane under a line in construction never fed, and another beam placed on the ground. The conductors of the line under construction had been...
A bare wire stretched in the air, in particular the conductor of a power line taut between their supports on its isolators, and never fed, without any type of electrical connections at the ends, can be the site of electrostatic charges? If so, why?
I would like to ask if it is allowed lay MV cables (e.g. 20 kV) in tunnels or wells where LV power/control/monitoring cables are laid. See photos, please.

I am looking for a refresh book about power plants/systems. I like Nasar "Schaum's Outline of Electrical Power Systems" but I find many mistakes. Do you have any suggestion? What do you tihink about Wayne "handbok of electric power calculations"?
Yhans to all for your suggestions. My problems doesn't concern copperweld but insulated cables in cable trenchs, as in http://bernatom.com/uk_savoir-faire-recouvrement-cables-cuivre.php: the currents are little.
Do you know these

Any experiences?
I like the first.
Do you have other suggestions?
