You might try screws i.e. simpson 1/4 SDS. They don't get adjusted with the group action factor. AT 4000# per ply that works out to about 17 screws per ply. They can be installed from both sides with location offset.
Depending on the size of the slab, I would assume some control joints are required. If so it is almost impossible to have the slab joint continue through the enlarged monolithic edge footing. If unsightly cracking of the slab is an issue you should stay away from the mono type.
You might also consider sliding snow with impact if the upper roof slopes downard toward the canopy and the upper roof does not include a mechanism to alleviate this condition
