I'm using the Component Operations> Cut Out to remove areas from a part that intersects with other parts. Several of these are conical sections and so they leave ellipses in the part being cut out. They're just floating there and I would prefer to remove them rather then leave them floating...
UPDATE:
Turns out there's some kind of bug that stops optimization studies in their tracks when doing this. If you use fastener shear stress as a limit it causes a problem. The measure on the fastener shear stress disappears between steps and then the study fails with an internal engine error...
That's basically what I ended up doing. I created a Pro/E Parameter in the assembly and then related the diameter dimensions to the parameter and then in mechanica related the fastener diameter to the parameter. Then to top it all off I made the parameter a design parameter for Design Studies...
Is there anyway to relate a fastener to the hole diameter in mechanica? I would like to link them so I can study the effects of changing the fastener diameter. I'm not seeing a straight forward way with the fastener dialog.
