Hi,
Even though I have been using SW for quite some time now, up until now I haven't used surfaces much, just solids, creating everything from scratch. Now, I have some files imported from Catia with very complex, wavy shapes which I have to work on in SW07. The files were imported as surfaces...
Hi guys,
Imagine you have a disk. On one of the faces you you need to put a circular groove, concentric with the disk, with a width from r1 to r2 (radius) and an angular length from ß1 to ß2 (angular). The trick is that the depth of this groove needs to be variable, like a swimming pool going...
I agree sg20,
I'm basically a SW guy, but I want to experiment, compare, expand, be more versatile with Inventor. One of the things I like in SW's interface is I can "inspect" my model (different views, view angles, cross sections etc.) very easily, fluently, really fast, and I don't have to use...
Hi,
I'm fresh new to Inventor and here is my question: is it possible to define the functionality of the middle mouse button (wheel) so that when I click and drag it will Rotate the model?
Thanks,
Sorin
Chris,
Thanks for the response.
For just one part, how would you do it to preserve most of the features? What would be the intermediate format and the process?
Thanks,
Sorin
Hi,
I am interested in making one of my SW project available to an Inventor user. Does anyone know a way to do this, with as much feature preservation as possible?
Thanks,
Sorin
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a way to move components of a subassembly (relative to the other parts of the subassembly) while the subassembly is inserted in an assembly? Or, the only way to do it is go back to the subassembly, move the component, then return to the full assembly?
Thank...
AIWat,
I would be interested to know, if this is ok, roughly:
- How many parts in your assembly?
- Size of the main assembly file?
- Size and details (how many sheets, how many views) in your main assembly drawing?
- The hardware you used, did it have detailed threads or cosmetic?
This would...
I do it like this:
Open Win Explorer, and go to the folder you want to list the files of
Make sure you have the “Display the full path in the address bar” option selected in Tools / Folder Options / View
Click in the address bar and hit CTRL-C (Copy) to copy the path
Open the Command prompt...
Scott,
I have very few configurations, my Image quality is right in the middle of the range, I don't save eDRW data.
Saving the assembly as a part could work for some situations, but apparently I can't do cross sections and of course, I can't do "exploded". In this case, I can't use it.
Here...
Gentlemen,
Based on the tests on file sizes presented above: any pointers on how I can reduce the size of my ASM and DRW?
For the number of parts there, it just doesn't seem right!
