Thanks, the battery pack hasn't been designed yet, it's all still in the early stages of design and I just wanted to have some input on which direction to go. Sounds like DC should work just fine. Thanks again!
I need to select a 1/2-3/4 hp electric motor to power a large battery powered cart. The cart will have laser scanners to detect potential obstructions and stop the cart as well as controls to synchronize it's speed and movement with the other carts. It will also only need to move for about 2...
I need to select a 10hp electric motor and gearbox for a drivetrain powering a cart. The wheels need to turn at about 30 Rpm. I was looking at getting a motor such as this...
Thanks for the replies, I will take a closer look at the effect of debris on the tracks and such. Also, 60mm seems a little small to me also, but I only just started looking today and those were the largest v-groove wheels I had found at the time. If you have any suggestions as to where I might...
I'm looking into developing the drivetrain for a cart which will be battery powered and travel at low speeds (around 0.33 m/s) along metal guide rails using v-groove wheels and weighing in around 4,000 kg. I'm trying to determine the necessary electric motor size to power the cart but my calcs...
The air available to bubble through the liquid comes from a high volume blower as opposed to a compressor so there's not really much heat to use from that. The steam supply is currently boiling the water off for the most part rather than just heating it up and allowing it to evaporate.
Right now we are evaporating waste water in a tank with steam powered heating coils running through it. The tank has a lid over it with a fan blowing air into it then out a pipe through the roof. This doesn't seem to be very efficient and I was thinking that running an air line into the tank to...
