If you are using this for an industrial application you can buy converters for this. They are easy to find, cheap, and mount in a panel (.25" x 1" in size).
I have did this before by using a 555 timer (use pullup resistor if trigger is rising edge) and capacitor for the trigger network. This will work to "filter" the trigger signal and will turn it off even if trigger is still activate. Good luck
