We want to have 500 cfm to get rid of ammonia vapour-air mixture. What kind and size of blower do we need?
If I want to add a cleaner -a 55 gal drum with 5% sulphuric acid as a bubble chamber-, then What will be the size of the blower?

CraigTiras,
Thanks. Our installation is not a pressure storage installation , but it is a atmospheric pressure installation.
The ball check valve's arrow is pointing upwards in the vertical duct. This means that this valve is there for safety in case pressure builds up too much. This valve...
CraigTiras,
I appriciate you for your information.
The situation is this: Our storage vessel is a closed one except the safety vent. i.e. in addition to inlet and outlet of the vessel, we have a duct with a ball check valve going from the roof of the tank through the roof of the facility to a...
CraigTiras,
Can you tell me why can't we fill more than 85 %, and what information I am going to get by reading the pressure inside the storage vessel.

Auslk,
We considering to build simple bubble chamber to absorb ammonia vapours from our bulk storage tank, needed during fill ups.
Can you give me some advice or any other leads to learn more about this.

Fitz,
We do not use sulphuric acid, but we use aqua ammonia in our facility.
We have a 5000 US gal tank for storage of AA. The tanker truck brings AA and fill the storage tank in 30 minutes using Air compressor, and picks up used ammonia from our spent tank to the same tanker truck by vaccum...
We have a 5000 US gal tank for storage of aqua ammonia. The tanker truck brings AA and fills the storage tank in 30 minutes, using an air compressor.
We considering to use a tranfer pump instead of air compressor for transferring AA.
I would to know whether transfer pumps or air compressors...
We have a 5000 US gal tank for storage of aqua ammonia. The tanker truck brings AA and fills the storage tank in 30 minutes using an air compressor which is a built-in unit in the tanker truck.
We are considering transfer pump for transferring AA instead of Air compressor.
How gasoline is...
Do I need a cooling coil for a ammonia abosorber?
I am planning to use water or 5% sulphuric acid as a scrubbing solution for ammonia vapours. This is going to be a batch operation. Every three months, I will use this bubble chamber to get rid of ammonia vapours during bulk delivery. 5000 US...
We have a 5000 US gal tank for aqua ammonia storage. We fill this tank from tanker truck by air compressor. Filling is finished in 30 minutes. The storage tank has a ball check valve, as a over-pressure release vent.
I want to design an exhaust for this tank with ammonia absorber. I have not...
Thanks for all for your opinions.
It appears that the check valve is there, in the original design, for over-pressure situations. The logic is there since a tanker truck with air-compressor have been used to tranfer aqua ammonia from tanker to FRESH tank.
It also appears that if we use a...
Montemayor,
I appriciate your opinions. I myself not in favor of using vapour return line for the air compresor of the tanker truck, unless we have a liquid transfer pump.
However, I would like to disscuss with you the feasiblity of having a system like that at least in theory. Assume we have...
Montemayor,
The tanker truck is equipped with air compressor which transfer FRESH AA from tanker truck to fresh tank, and by pulling vaccum, transfer spent ammonia from spent tank to tanker truck.
The Carrier for this AA takes care of everything, and they have been doing this kind of operation...
We want to get rid of ammonia fumes when we fill our bulk tank from the supply-trailer. Our tank is 5000 US gal. This tank is filled in 30 minutes by a Pressurized trailer. We want to design and build a bubble chamber so that we get rid of ammonia fumes. Can I get some leads to the pump...
