Hi all
what would be the Oxygen to LPG ratio for complet combustion of LPG. Our Oxygen is 95% pure.
what will happen if combution at high temperature (i.e.800 deg.C) is not complet. would cracking take over?
Thanks
How do you specify alarm level controling the temperature of the trace heating of a LPG pipe. I am talking about temperature at which the alarm should be activated.
Thanks all of you for your contributions.
In our process we fluidize iron ore with a CO/H2 reach gas as reducing agent. This is to produce directly reduced iron (DRI) 92% metalised for steel production. The gas also contains CO2, CH4 and N2.

I think you need to find the origin of N2 first. as far as i know their should not be a lot of N2 in LPG.
If your LPG is used for heating the presence of N2 may affect you heating process. this only if the N2 is allowed to mix with le vaporised LPG.
The primary protection of your structure against corrosion is your coating. There is no doubt about that. Of course here we are assuming that it is a perfect coating. However we all know there is no such thing as perfect. Your coating will always have defect. And corrosion will start on those...

Anodes for this type of corrosion protection are usualy made of Zn or Mg. I will not be able to tell you the exact spec for your material but if you can consult the ASM metal handbook or some ASTM spec recarding cathodic protection you will have your unswer.

You can expect changes in properties of your material after any deformation. this changes can to some extend be reversed if a heat treatment like annealing is applied to your material.
Hi all
1. Can someone explain to me the mechanism involved in the carburizing process. In mechanism I mean chemistry in the gas and in the metal, mass transfer process etc...
2. There is a process used mostly in the production of sponge iron or direct reduced iron, which is called...
Another thing that you have to remember is that the volume change of the metal takes place during solidification. so even if you had more powder after volume change, it might not be of any effect because some area have solidify already or are becoming dificult to reach by metal in any other form...
One of the byproduct of our process is a gas containing mainly CO and H2, but also CO2,N2 and CH4. This gas is used by down stream users as fuel. Unfortunatly this gas contain also dust and water(condensate). this results in the blockage of nozzles and valves.
I have been asked to design a...
