    Wastewater application - H2S Corrosion

Hi all, I am just trying to understand the mechanism and chemistry behind the situation happening in our application. Wastewater comes in a pipeline, and low DO in water, bacteria, organics, H2S occurs. Does it occur in gas form or dissolved in water? If both, which would be dominant? My...

    WaterCAD, (Message ID 40005) Problem?

Hi all again, I am here to get help from those lucky engineers who solved all their problems with watercad and can use it whatever way they want. Here is my deal... I built the system, reservoirs, pumps, junctions, hydrants, gpvs, entered all elevation information for them, pump curves, gpv...

    WaterCAD, default pipe size?

Francesca, sorry but I didnt get what you meant...you cant right click the properties first of all, and i need the do this after i begin the project, so i cant set it up from the beginning, please a liitle more claficiations...thanks though...

    WaterCAD, default pipe size?

Hi all, I am a newbie at WaterCAD, kinda know what I am doing but I need some help from advanced friends. If there is a way to change the default pipe size while you are modeling a system, it would be really helpful. Right now When I put the junctions, it is always 6" ductile iron pipe, can I...

    coagulant aid for phosphorus removal?

Hello, We are designing a chemical phosphorus removal system for a WWTP. We will use ferric chloride as our coagulant. But I am trying to decide what kind of polymer we should use as coagulant aid? And which polymer feeding equipment? This system will be a backup for biological system but we...

    Chemical Phosphorus Removal

Hi ch81pc, Thanks for all replies. I have one more question if you dont mind...where do you mix your ferric in the system? do you connect your line to your mix liqour line or do you send directly to a tank or something? and if you mix it in the pipe line what kind of equipment do you use? I...

Where can I find a laboratory that can identify SBR (styrene Butadiene

try Bodycote Melrose Park facility, it is materials testing lab and they r into plastics and rubber and all, probably they ll do some FTIR or something and figure it out, but this is if the material is plastic or rubber based...

    Chemical Phosphorus Removal

bimr, I guess I found my reply, yea pre-hydrolization of ferric chloride defects phosphorus removal but increases BOD COD removal... since in our case we wanna remove phosphorus we dont want that, and it happens really really low concentrations, under 5-10 percent...or even less in this case...

    Chemical Phosphorus Removal

Hi, We are designing a phosphorus removal system for a wwtp. and we r gonna use feeric chloride as a chemical, we are gonna buy it at 35% concentration and dilute it down to 1-5% adn pump about 50-250 ft before primary clarifiers after them and stuff, but in a book it says this is unnecessary...

    in-line mixing for wwtp

Hi All, With new regulations, we have to decrease the floride concentration in the wastewater before giving recieving stream. We will use ferric chloride to react with floride and we will have 2 solid products. We think to feed ferric chloride after aeration tank going to detention tank to...

which material is good with ferric chloride?

thanks a lot for all the replies.they really helped a lot. What about concrete? Any research made on concrete? any information? what type of concrte is good? or does ferric chloride have any effect on concrete? thanks

which material is good with ferric chloride?

Hi, we are designing some piping and tubing for WWTP. We will use ferric chloride at 5% and 35%. We will normally use PVC piping but at 5% it may contact some metals.what kind of metal should we use? I kinda researched it and only titanium looks corrosive resistant to ferric chloride but we...
