    Residential Slab-on-grade Foundations

    I want to know if there is a maximum spacing for the closed ties on grade beams of residential reinforced slabs. FHA has a maximum spacing of 48" centers. In my experience, I normally use 24' spacing. Is there an actual code requirement for the spacing of rebar ties? S. Nunez, PE

    Minimum foundation height above finished ground for structures

    On 2015IRC 404.1.6 requires for "the foundation to extend above the finished grade a minimum of 4 inches where masonry veneer is used and a minimum to 6 inches elsewhere." But I do not find the equivalent for this requirement on the IBC for non-residential structures. I reviewed 2015 IBC...
