I have an ancient part in our system that needs to be produced.
On the dwg, it says, "Steam Homo Draw at 650F, dip in oil".
The material is 1144 steel.
My limited Google search says this process to be
some sort of proprietary process for corrosion protection...like passivation?
Anyway..what...
Does any know of a good website that defines all the terminology used in metal stamping fabrication??
One with with a lot pictures would be preferred.
Or recommend a good book?
Getting into stampings and need to get up to speed on
terms like "back break", "fracture", "roll over", etc, etc...
rbusara....it's a miniature filament bulb..can't locate an equivalent.
I need it for a piece of old equipment..only marking on it is CM82
I know I can nail it down if I can do a physical search of the bulb...it runs on 6vdc is all I know.
Does anyone have a good website where I can look up
light bulb specs...
THings like dimensions mostly...I'm there are standards out there for the bases, bulbs, lengths etc...
Thanks....Ruso
I'm using Allegro A120x hall effect switches...one of the specs is something called Max Reverse Output Voltage( In this case it's -0.5V.
What does that mean and how do I not exceed it. I"m more mechanical so thus the question.
Thanks....
Hope someone can tell me what to do. How do you hook up a wye or delta wound coil to a surge tester/??? I know how to hipot the coil. Do you do a combination 2 wires at a time? Do 2 wires on one tester lead and the remaing one on the other?? Any help would be good. Thanks...
One way I do it is buy burying a J type thermal couple in the winding of a motor. If you have the equipment, this works okay. But the resistance method is the best. It gives the average heat of the coil. Where as the thermal couple kinda gives a localized temperature response.
Can anyone tell me what I SEMS fastener is?? In other words..I know what it is...a faster with a washer under it.....but what does it stand for? Is it an acronym? Is it a brand name like Tap Tite? Who originated it??
Can anyone tell what the equation/s would be to find out how much the outside and inside diameter of a tube or ring expands?? I just had a bearing fall out of my housing cause heat expanded the housing faster than the bearing.
Thanks...Ruso
Diamondjim,
I don't know how to answer you, since I don't know what is a testing radius. The way it's being used around my new job is to test how good the gear is. It's used to establish the limits when the gear is rolled. Basically, Total composite and tooth to tooth error must fall...
Can anyone tell me what a testing radius is for a spur gear??? And how do I calculate that?? What affects it? I know that pitch radius is equal to testing radius in an unmodified gear.
Any website that I can go to calculate over wire dims as well?????
jbartos: Assembly of the motor at the customer is financially prohibitive. We ship all over the US and Europe. And we ship hundreds of these things.
electricpete: I said that these are bronze spherical bearings held with a retainer in a pocket. They are considered self aligning( and dis...
Try as we might, packaging did not work. Since bouncing in a truck for several days, even with our best packing still locked some of the motors.
But thanks for the help
We make DC motors where we use spherical bronze bearings on both ends with an impregnated felt for extra lube and a brass retainer pressed against the bearing to hold every thing.
Trouble is...during shipment, they lock up and we have to ask the customer to use a hammer to tap them back into...
