I want to create a 3D model view from 2D drawings and subsequently a 3D rendering. The only thing in the help section I can find is 2D Geometry - creating 3D sketches.
In following the steps, it asks for a Template file, select the assembly, part, or sheet metal template you want to use to...
Got that working thanks. I have two drawings, both cross-sections (front and side) that I want to create a 3D rendering from. Whats the best/fastest/easiest way of achieving this given that I am working with V20 Academic? Looking at the help section on 2D and 3D, the 3D is done in Draft mode...
Im using Solid Edge V20 Academic. In Drawing, I'm trying to create a bend by drawing two tangent lines to a circle, then trimming the part of the circle I don't need. This works fine when creating a part. But in Drawing, when I want to trim the circle at the tangent points, it highlights the...
In assembly, when rotating, a set of XYZ coordinates appears. Why when using the move command, does a second set of XYZ coorinates appear? This second set of coordinates nullifies and movement when rotating a part about an axis. Is there a way of preventing this second set of coordinates?
Does anyone know of an issue with Solid Edge freezing, becoming un-responsive when physcally moving (dragging) a part in Assembly? Im using an Academic version of V20. Don't know if its related or not, I recently upgraded my OS from Vista to 7, this wasn't an issue b4 upgrading.
When you click on rotate for example, you see a yellow ball with XYZ pointing arrows appearing. When I click move (moving a part around an axis) and select a part, I get a blue ball with directional pointers on an edge of the part. Why is this? Now when I select a part, everything moves, not...
I've uploaded a file called Example.par It's a square shaft with two parallel path lines. I can only sketch on the end cross-section, not on the protrusion faces. Is this normal in Solid Edge? http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=412c50ae-5652-478d-847f-6463cc4d955c&file=Example.par
I've create a solid swept protrusion from a squared cross-section and 2 parallel tangent path lines. However, having created the protrusion, I cannot create a sketch on the surfaces which contain these path lines, only on the cross-section surfaces. If I create the protrusion with only one of...
Having trouble creating an outside thread. Using the thread command on a 0.37 inch diameter, the thread type list is empty. How do I populate this list if the cylinder diameter is set to one in the thread file?
I haven't explored every button/command yet. I just found the buttom beside the Return button edits the hole and threads it as well. I'm learning as I go!
Thnx.
I'm actually threading cutouts, not holes. The hole feature just places a circle in the face, it doesn't let me resize the diameter/radius of the hole. I can at least do that with a cutout. Is there a way of placing a circle of a certain size using the holes command?
I'm having a problem creating an internal thread. The hole cylinder is 0.4 inches diameter. Accoring to PipeThread.txt, the hole needs to be modelled on an internal minor diameter of .358 inches for a hole size of 0.405 Problem is Solid Edge rounds up to 2 places of decimal. If I set the...
