Options did not help, set both the referenced documents and the blocks paths to the locations of my inserted jpegs

Yep, I set it to windows picture and fax viewer on all the machines and it still only works on the 32 bit machines. I had the exact same thought...
Jpegs are linked to files on a server, but the source files are still present and have not been changed whatsoever. If it were just a deleted or broken link, why would some computers still be able to pull up the embedded jpegs just fine.
I find it likely that windows update could have "fixed"...

I am trying to figure out if there is either a utility or tool in solidworks 2006 that will help me hunt down an offending (poorly modeled) assembly or component that is hurting the top level's regeneration time. There is such a tool for features on the part level (Tools-Feature Statistics)
