Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding calculating worm wheel inertia of a worm wheel gearbox.
I assume the motor will have the worm attached so i will inore this.

Can anyone advise me what problems I may encounter if I change from a zinc die-casting to an aluminium one. This is based on the existing casting tool being worn and I can introduce a big cost saving using aluminium.

There are various materials that this part is manufactured to. Depending on the indvidual application. Some of the materials are super alloys hardened to 57 HRC. The hardening could be carried out after the machining.
