I have a project where I'm being asked to specify compaction testing - type, when, where and how many for the backfill over a newly installed sewer (10-16' deep). We need to insure 95% compaction. What is the best/practical way to do this? Thanks for any input.

I've noticed that Public Works Departments in the at least the Northeast like to call out the use of "buffalo style curb boxes - North American Made". I'm curious as to why this is designated this way. Why do they want them to be North American Made? Can any one explain? Thanks

Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that I am using Land Desktop 2005. I don't see a DIMSTYLE setting - where can I find it? DIMSTYLE sounds like it may pretain to dimensions - what does it do?
