Take a look on Cummins I know they build what your looking for.

    Wear

It might be the case, the analysis attached was based statically, which is the incorrect way (it should be evaluated dynamically I will expect). However you can have a better picture of the problem with this file. Is there a practical way I can acquire the true load that the cam and follower...

    Force vs Displacement Plot

upps forgot to attach the photohttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d7e8f688-6e65-450e-94a3-4f9fbc3358f7&file=SUMRF3.jpg

    Force vs Displacement Plot

I am doing basically the same thing. I did the SUM at the end nodes from the fixed part, but I am having trouble understanding the low forces of the plot. The modulus of elasticity units are Pa, the model should be in mm, I guess what I am seeing is microNewtons, which really does not makes...

    Interpolating

Hello, I have to vectors (flow and pressure). I am scatter plotting them (flow vs pressure). I did it before, I do not recall how I interpolated around for a certain value of let say pressure and have the flow value on that specific point... hope anyone can help me, thanks

    Wear

Sorry for not providing full information. This is happening on a fuel diesel pump. Failure is happening between the cam-follower interface (you will understand everything once I upload the photos, hope to upload them tonight). I do not discard that the follower might got stuck and then friction...

    Wear

Hello We are having some heavy wear failures on field returns from camshaft-tappet. Later I will attach a document where you can appreciate the magnitude of the failure, also some images from parts we catch during testing. Much work has been done with no successful results. Some of the...

    Need help to establish tolerance

it might be ok to use cylinders with mating part dimmensions, these one's will have a diameter of 40.035 +0/-0.005. The big concern will be for position from those two cylinders...

    Need help to establish tolerance

Upps, sorry Now available, thanks http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=41f87dd0-c22b-4230-afd0-9c3afd389541&file=body.doc

    Need help to establish tolerance

Thanks fcsuper I will try it, though, CheckerRon suggestion is a good idea. It will be a little bit hard because the mating part has a very very tight tolerance (since it slides up and down on those pockets) but it is a smart reference to take in account. Thanks both of you for your responses.

    Need help to establish tolerance

To assemble a couple of pins at diameter 5.1 from detail L with a press, the part (material aluminuim) is fixed using the two diameters of 40.035 (section A-A). Basically two cylinders get inside those two "pockets" (diameters of 40.035).I will really appreciate your help to establish the...
