Is it possible when using save as session to have all of the individual CATPart convert to .models in their Assembly position (as opposed to where the were built in the orginal CATPart?
Does anyone know how to automatically edit the top level product's properties programatically? (Specifically the Part Number and Rev attributes). I would like to do this in batch mode and set the part number and rev based on "fields" in the CATPart model name.
The switch from V4 to V5 is inevitable. I believe you are making a wise choice. When a couple of the large companies (like Boeing or Airbus) finally make the switch there will be a mad scramble to find designers with V5 experience. It not a matter of if, just when it will happen.

In the assembly design toolbench, there is a command called "snap to". The icon reminds me of a pawn in chess. If create axes in the individual CatParts you can use the snap to command to move one part to another similar to V4-Transfor-Move.

What language is CATGEO written in. I'm actually not a CATIA programmer although I dabble in VB and php but CATIA is done using FORTRAN isn't it? Do you have any example code?
Is it possible to apply a stored "move" translation to a bunch of V4 models in batch mode. Our customer would like us to transform a whole series of models to a different coordinate system and doing it manually is not an option. Any ideas?
