    Is attached on their drawings or "overlaid"? Try changing the XREF to overlay on the R14 files. That might be blocking you. One test to do ... is to wait for everyone to go home. Then open that same file with the r14 file XREF'd. Does it open fine? If so then chances are the R14...

    I have to agree with CADaver, if the person can't take the pressure of an interview, than what will she/ he do when it's crunch time. But CADqueen's point about people's machine is valid. That's why we don't ask them to draw. But the face-to-face "faceoff" oral exam seems to go faster...
