PerBear,
Thanks for that. We are currently testing the Igus products. I have been a little too busy to post this in the thread.
engineeringplastics,
Thank you as well. You might be ahead of your time. The more and more we test, the more it seems you can't replace a cheap nylon bushing. Cheap...
I am not an expert, but I work around docks and piers. I have seen a long joint of flex conduit at the ramp slide joint. For AC service anyway. Don't know if it's to code or not.
I would think the electrical codes would have this outlined in them for your location.
Good point on the Acetal.
The other thing that is a problem is water absorption. Nylon has been attempted before by competitors. Needless to say, the Nylon bushings took on water and seized the shafts!!
I think the market has a dirty taste in their mouths from the Nylon experiences, but I...
I have a slow speed bushing application for a project. The specifics are:
25 rpm max.
2" galvanized steel shaft
4 bushings per shaft
1500 lbs. per bushing
bushing I.D. is 2" O.D. is 3" and length is 2"
We have a UHMW PE (virgin homopolymer) bushing that is wearing okay. However, the bushing is...
Thank you all for this info. I will check out the books you all cited. I do appreciate this forum for information just like this.
It seems I am laughing at some of the crate stories a little too much. The point about having 12 crates would seem a bit ridiculous to me as well. I have 2 reference...
If they made it, I would buy one. I wanted one this year, but nothing available.
I am talking about GM's Colorado/S-10 size trucks with a small turbo 4-cylinder. Even the 1/2-ton trucks like the 1500 Silverado would be great.
Also, all the international diesel trucks/utilities are great...
Wow!
I had no idea all these GMI alumni are around here. I am a class of '00 alumnus. However, my diploma says Kettering on it. Nice to hear!
To add some content, never ridden in a Corvair, but had a '01 BMW 325 with the independent suspension. The fun really started when the Traction Control...
Good folks of the forum,
I am about to sign up for the PE test in my state of Florida, and I have some questions about the allowable reference list.
I am doing the Machine Design depth of ME. Where can I find a list of titles allowed into the test?
I am sure it is someplace I overlooked, but...
I thought I would chime in because I am currently enrolled in my MBA coursework and work full time as a mechanical engineer.
I am working roughly 50 hours per week at my job, and the MBA is taking another 40 hours per week on average. I have realized that I am sacrificing all of my free time...
I just took the FE in Florida. It seemed that everyone around me was struggling when we were talking about it. I feel confident I passed. I also took the general exam.
There was rumors of the re-takers saying it was more difficult than in the past. I did not hear that first-hand though.
The...
My company manufactures all aluminum structures with all stainless hardware that gets dunked in and out of the saltwater. We coat critical hardware that has to be removed for service or repair with white lithium grease. I think the lubrication of the threads to prevent galling and displacement...
I also do what Lutfi mentioned. I also saved a font format that transfers directly into Power Point. Some of my existing fonts changed (must be from similar shape files?) when I inserted the Windows Meta File into any of the Office products.
