Hi there,
I have to design three phase transformer for power supply: 13000VDC @ 10ADC, cap filtered.
Using capacitor filter always makes me nervous because of figuring transformer's secondary voltage and current.
Is it OK if I calculate Us=0.74*UDC , Is=0.816*Idc , and because of cap filter...
at No Load conditions transformer have No Loar current which have two components: active (generate No Load Loss) and reactive-magnetizing which generate flux i.e. magnetizing the core
regards
If you measure 410V with transformer ratio you'll have about 237.5V and as ScottyUk says for let say range of 1000VA transformer have regulation of cca 5% so you got about 250V no load voltage
All voltage transformers what I've seen are single phase and then connected to three phase what you need (delta or wye). Is there some reason why not build three phase voltage transformer (using one core instead three)?
