Thanks for your response. If I understand you correctly if there is only elastic deformation taking effect (say in a golf ball-golf club impact) there will be no change in temperature (even slight change) between the two objects.
What are the relationships between pressure and temperature in an impact? Is there any equations that can calculate the change in temperature between two materials when they are impacted at a known force?

I am doing modal analysis on golf club heads. I am trying by preliminary sound analysis (without impacting a golf ball at 130mph) if a club has a good or a bad sound characteristic.
I am trying to coorelate the acoustic frequencies taken from impact testing to modes that I got from FEA. How doest the frequencies I measured from impact testing via microphone and oscilloscope coorelate with the frequences in modal analysis. Thanks for your help!
