    Augmented Rocket Design

"or are you entraining outside air and mixing it with the rocket exhaust ?" Exactly see attached photos of my original test rocket fabricated to test the concept. This was a standard spike inlet/diffuser/constant duct with a convergent subsonic nozzle. It was scaled down from 1948 NACA...

    Augmented Rocket Design

"why ? what are you trying to achieve with a different diffusor ?" I could just copy the diffuser shown in the old NACA report. However the 2.88" diameter just looks to small for the 1.5" dia motors I plan to use. I could just use a straight mixing duct and forgo the diffuser that would be...

    Augmented Rocket Design

Augmented rocket based on hobby Aerotech motors for primary stream. 38mm reloadable solid fuel rocket motors I-285 and J825. Plan to install diffuser aft of primary nozzle ahead of constant duct. I need a formula to determine diffuser inlet diameter, constant duct diameter, and convergent...

    Garrett Turbo-E Generator Application

Would like to implement installation of a Garrett turbo electric generator. I only want to utilize generator function to assist alternator not interested in compressing intake. Any company make a turbine electric generator without compressor? Want to use the turbo exhaust generator to run...

    Inlet Diffuser Effects

Looking for formulas to calculate the inlet diffuser efficiency. Given the inlet cross section area and diffuser exit cross section area including the temp, velocity, and density of the free stream what would the results be at the diffuser exit? How much does the velocity decrease? How much do...

    High Angle Attack Airfoil

The wings are only deployed during take-off and initial ascent up to M<.8. Beyond transonic they are stowed and lifting body is sufficed for supersonic cruise. Maybe used during descent, decel again M<.8 to extend glide range. Not required for landing with empty vehicle. Addition of high devices...

    High Angle Attack Airfoil

Thanks mohr, Found the pdf file of that report. Will take sometime to absorb it. I'm more familiar with NACA airfoils, I assume the LS (1)-0413 is based on the Whitcomb supercritical design? The C-17A transport uses a supercritical airfoil. Something similar may work well in my application.

    High Angle Attack Airfoil

Looking for a subsonic cambered airfoil that has good lift at up to 15-20 degree angle of attack without stalling. Switch blade wings for use with delta lifting body. Need to enhance lift during lift-off, landings and subsonic glide.
