Most base plates and columns/poles are full penetration (small hole for wires and water) or slip fit (stronger-double fillet) but both are usualy rose bud heated to make a better weld. But to change the material to a brittle condition I would suspect over spec'ng the material/rod or the fab shop...
All dwg's, layouts and details, must be approved by a PE or AIA. Fab shops most time do structural detail and fabrication from contractors, always late with dwg's and loads of revisions, and don't employ AIA's or PE's because of cost. We build what you DESIGN and APPROVE no matter how goofy it...

Until all the machine shops and factories in the USA start using new machine tools with metric readouts etc. the USA will use inch. I can not design a special machine or product that will be made in the USA with pre 70's...
I had to change a few parts of an assembly. I exploded one detail to lose the instance and browser callout. I altered the 3D part and want to add instance & callout again. Is there a easy way or do I have to draw the new details long hand.
thanks

Think of the shop people. Any fraction must be read from a yo-yo (tape measure), I believe 1/16 is the smallest with better one's marked out at 1/32.
Just wandering.

In our medium size tool, die, and special machine design house autocad 2d is the only way to cost effectivly be competitive. Since jobs shops are mostly all one-offs taking the time to make a 3d assembly does not make much sense. We do use customers sw and others models for our cnc smartcam and...
Need quick help or direction by morning (10:30 pm now) I'am now rent-a-penciling a new job using a old design. Large mold timing (22 ft dia) having 20 molds weight unknown at this time (this is old design). All this should be of no concern to you since I don't have a print (other then one...
Greetings and thanks!
After searching on "Bump forming", interesting and useful, I searched on electromagnetic press and found my query. I now seem to remember years ago about a solenoid type press and low and behold this is it. Its based under "Winset Tech" which markets the...
To tell you the truth I won't know till monday, I took this weekend off and I'am not going back to look at that little piece of paper. OK I seem to remember this was for delpi mi so I would think. 1/2 dia ss some length. But I actually remember reading something else about a 2mm dimple and a...
Greetings,
The boss is quoting a job and the request is to price out a standard punch (1.2mm hole pierce) press and the "Lordes (lores?) electrostatic press" . Now I've been structural, mechanical, industrial, and plant engineering but I can't fine a electrostatic press unless he...

As a ref for spc-deming uninitiated, this links about the basic I can find. Although Deming mentioned it he never really incorperated into his system. If I remember right it was hold "Close, High, and Tight, and Everythings right" or something like that...
roby,
For MOST small to medium mfg'ers a number circled or star with a note is used. A majority out there ARE small to medium with a assembly consisting of only a few parts swaged, welded, pressed, or bolted together. They have no need of expansive cad systems or more then one assembly dash...
uppili11,
I just reviewed a tack-spot weld company in Blissfield Mich. do does work for all the Big Ums, they just patented a quick change weld process. You buy one large stationary machine (beer cooler size) then you buy a bunch of smaller forklift loaded pallets (large tv box size) with your...
