    I am not sure what you mean by 'would rotate backwards' but yes the load is the same on each shaft.... therefore I see now that each shaft has an output torque of 240"#. Thanks

    Thank-you Ron. If I read you correctly you are saying that the out-put torque on both driven shafts is 480"#.

    A gearbox has an output torque of 320"# and the output shaft has a 12 tooth sprocket that chain drives (2) separate shafts with 18 tooth (driven) sprockets. What is the output torque on the (2) driven shafts? Would it be 480"# each, or 240"# each, or? Any response appreciated thanks.
