Hi beachcomber
I want to display the quantity in the part drawing as it helps the guys on shop floor to know how many of part "A" they must fabricate.
The shops overhere do not look at the assembly and each worker gets a specific part to fabricate)
It also removes one more step i have to...
Hi
Is there a way to show part count(linked to the assembly) in the draft drawing of a specific part?
For example lets say you have 10x of part B in the assembly, i would like 10 to show up(automatically) in the quantity cartridge in the draft file of part B.
(So i dont have to do it manually...
Its seems to me that MET courses in the rest of canada and the US is quite different when compared to overhere(Quebec)
Maybe someone could post up the typical MET courses in the US or canada.
My MET exams where never of the "back of the book" you had start at the begining of the...
To Twoballcane:
Not covered:
Heat transfers,Thermo, vibration,fluids
Fea is also not covered
Covered subjects:
Beam theory(Mohr circle, combined load etc)
Machine design(calculating all elements of machine designs bearings shaft Failure theory etc)
Robotics and automations...
Its to further hone my skills i dont know about MET courses in the US but in canada its very a complete course.
I had the same number of machine design, materials and physics courses as my friends with BA in ME.
I think it would more geared towards some structural courses as i think its lacking...
Any of you guys ME technologists?
Ive been an ME tech for about 6 years designing machines and i love it..but i would like to perfect myself and thinking of taking some extra course at Uni.(maybe some kinematics and some structural courses)
Just wondering if you guys ever felt the need to get...
Well gather you can use which ever force with the factor of safety, just depends on the
-situation(lives in danger)
-material(brittle or ductile etc)
-How well you know the working conditions
I have always used the "ultimate strength" of a material when i know the safety factor and the "yield strength" in other situations.(when i dont have the safety factor)
Is this accurate?(just having doubts after a debate i had with a fellow machine designer)
Thank you in advance
I’m in the process of building a new workstation to run SE.
In the process of picking up the graphic card
Looking at the ViewPerf. 10 benchmark, i was wondering which of the tests will most closely reflect SE performance?
UGNX because it’s from the same company
or

Thank you for all the replies
Dimensions for the part is as follows,

I applied and LC7 fit clearence 0.004 to 0.0008
Fonction:
Must easily deassembled by hand with little play.
Die cast Tolerances are +-0.019"...
Here it goes..
The other day i was designing two die cast parts that are supposed to slide into another, now i get to the part were i calculate my Fits.
Now i know all about Locational clearence fits, force fits etc.. and that you have to consider the fabrication process quality ie: milling...
