Another way to try is by typing "C:delete useless elements" in the command box. This will highlight any elements that are not linked to the "solid". It also give you the option to de-select elements you would like to keep.

In the "Tools" toolbar there is an icon that has a traffic light symbol. It is named Sketch Solving Status. This command should work for you.
