    Error-amp

Hi Electron, thanx for the tips. I will surely buy that book too, because analog design is my passion. Actually, I solved everything by hand, and used Maple to check those really long equations for me. And believe me... this simple 2nd order system gets REALLY difficult.... I did not know about...

    Error-amp

Thanx for the tips! I will surely buy that book. Okay, here is a detailed question. I have modelled an error-amp, consisting of an opamp with +2,5V reference at V+. At V- there is the compensation consisting of C1 + R//C2. The input of the system is a normal voltage divider, like in most SMPS...

    Levelshifter or totempole?

oh sorry... I gave a wrong explanation. The website you sent to me, look at the first buck converter. That is exactly what I'm using. So the source of the N-channel BUZ11 is connected directly to the inductor. The gate goes to the totempole, and drain to the +12V source. The diode is 1N4148. I...

    Levelshifter or totempole?

Well, I have tried different totempole transistor pairs. Also BD139 type with its complementary. The circuit is a very simple buck converter with a SG3525 controller. The drain-source voltage is also equal to 12V. That means, equal to the gate-source voltage. drain-source = gate-source = +12V...

    equations

how can I tell Matlab to solve an equation symbolically without giving values to the variables? For example: 2x + 5 + 6x will become 7x + 5. Thanx in advance!

    Levelshifter or totempole?

The FET is of type BUZ11. The totempole consists of 2N3904 and its complementary. The main issue is that the FET receives 12V whereas the drain-source voltage is also equal to 12V. I can't use more than 12V because the circuit is intended for a car battery. Any suggestions?

    Error-amp

How does the error-amp of a switch mode power suply work? I know a lot about it already, but: - I don't know at which frequencies to place the poles and zeros; - how much should the phase shift be? - how to choose the component values? thanx again

    Levelshifter or totempole?

I saw many circuits on the internet with totempole drivers for FETs. Now I built such a totempole in a SMPS, but it doesn't work correctly. Now someone told me that a levelshifter should ALWAYS be used, even with totempole. The reason: when the mosfet is ON, the gate-drain voltage will both be...
