2. More NPSHr with cavitation failure risk.
3. Erosion in high velocity zones, Cut water, suction, discharge vanes zone, etc.
3. More radial load with bearing and shaft failure risk.
4. Global vibration levels increase...
It is an issue to make a field test for vertical turbine pump.
HI standars will help, but depends of size of pump you have.
A complete vibration test, an internal inspection of bearings and wear ring impeller are also required.
