Hey,
We have to understand what you really want to do.
When you design a system that would be under any dynamic loading you have first of all, from my understanding, design it so that the structural modes (and there natural frequencies) are far from the dynamic load's frequency. When that's...
Hello guys,
I'm new to this kind of topic and I have a question for you to see if I can reduce the waste of sheet metal in my company.
My company produces heating boilers and uses concrete to build their walls. The shape of our boilers are cylindrical and in order to produce this shape we use...
Thanks guys,
I solved the problem.
And yes, Native for windows
PMPI unix based systems.
I had the path to the env file wrong, once I corrected it worked.
Hi guys,
I'm getting this error using abaqus 6.11.5.

Hi guys,
first of all, thanks in advance.
The problem:
I have a job that when I try to run on my pc (i7, 20gb of ram) it asks for 12gb of ram (estimated) and it is able to finish the job.
Then when I try to run the same job on a cluster(over 60gb of ram), it aborts saying that a memory limit of...
Hi guys, first of all thanks for spending time reading this.
I have a model of a Bus and I'm trying to do a modal dynamic analysis (the simulation finish with no problem), however I'm getting huge displacements.
I'll explain my problem:
I have a bus with a gravity applied all over the model...
Before all, thank you very much.
I've read about the restart keyword before, but I didn't connect the dot's. :S
I'll try that tomorrow.
Again, thank you! :D You saved me lot's of time. :D
Hi guys,
I have a simple question.
I'm doing a Modal dynamics analysis in Abaqus. I wouldn't remember to ask this if I had a small model, however thats not the case. Only the frequency extraction step takes up to a hour and a half and the rest depends on the time increment that I define. So my...
I already thought of doing it that way, however I don't think that is the right way to do it.
For example, if I have four support points for the point mass & inertia and if I couple the point to those 4 points, it is as if I have a rigid connection between the four support points, and I dont...
Hey guys,
I have the structural part of my model already finished, however that is not enough because I need to include all the other components that will influence the dynamics of the whole model. I want to have the influence, for example, of the weight and inertia of my motor, however I dont...
A large portion of the model is already made of substructures. I haven't tried submodeling because I didn't understand how that works yet, but it seems that I have to look into it to solve this limitation.
If you have any other sugestions, they would be useful.
Hi all,
I have a very large model and I got this error today. It seems that my computer doesn't have enough physical memory to run the whole job.
Error: Abaqus/Standard has exited because there is insufficient memory available. A limit of 16337.00 megabytes was specified using the memory...
The best way to do what you're trying is to use coupling.
Create a RP on the face of the cylinder. Then on constraint->coupling, select the RP as the control point and then the respective surface.
Then you can apply the loads and moments to that point.
