I'm looking for a way to have our total part cut/burn length (combination of outside & inside) for our SW part files and have this total distance information displayed on our drawings? I'm sure this would involve a macro or something similar to achieve this and was wondering if anyone else has...
I have a slot that I need to pattern. The number of instances that I need to pattern is 11 with a distance of 1.125 between the slots. One end of the slot needs to stay on the same horizontal axis and the other end needs to shortenwith each instance by .0773". I'm pretty sure that this can be...
Ok I think I got it figured out somewhat. I used the toggle clamp I had modeled up and added an "opened" configuration and used mates to achieve what I wanted.
Ok I looked thru the alternate position help section that CBL linked above. Using the example that SW has in that help file I'm assuming that the configurations you would have would be open and closed for the toggle clamp shown, how would you create those configurations in the assembly file? I...
I have them set up with a limit/distance mate in the assembly. What I want to be able to show is both the retracted and extended positions on the drawings to show the distance that the part can travel.
I've got an assembly that has a part that telescopes in and out and I want to show a it in both states, fully extended and compressed. What's would be the best way to do this?
I'm thinking by using a configuration in the assembly but I'm not really sure how to make it happen the way I want it...
Drawoh,
There is no machining performed on this piece. The shop will use a hand plasma to cut out the stitches to remove the remaining material. I'm stuck with the size of the box as it is. The material is 12ga A36 which I can't deviate from either.
Eltron thanks for the reply. Yes I could put a note on the drawing to call that out which I will probably end up doing anyways but I'm using the dxf file from the flat pattern for our laser to cut the part out. I was trying to eliminate me having to "massage" the dxf file. Hoping that SW had a...
I've got a sheet metal part that has some cut outs that are rather close to bend lines and when we go to bend them the cut out areas flare out. Is there anyway to leave material inside the cut out in my model so that they can open the cut out after forming? I've attached a picture of what my...
