Is there any good link describing a large compressor motors ( 5000-6000 HP) in my case applied in petrochemical industry.
Also I would like to now who is manufacturer of these motors.
The same question - Is anybody making relay with separated contacts, ready to accept different voltages on auxiliary contacts. (like 120VDC and 240AC )

I need two motor breakers (thermal magnetic) for 100HP, 480V and 300HP, 480V motors.
No extra load, CB's are to protect motor and wire.
The problem is un-standardized FLC's, little lower than FLC's specified by NEC.
Can I use a smaller breakers - or can I use 200A and 600A breakers in my case ...
For the motors 100HP and 300HP, 48o Volts size of the breakers has been determined. Now we have a new information including FLC currents ( lower than conventional)
100HP, 48o Volts with FLC=110A
300HP, 48o Volts with FLC=335A
Can we use 200A and 600A breakers ?

Why won't the engr's accept derating?
Good Question. Existing part of the plant has area with that temperature where derating has not been provided. Also owner of the building is not accepting derating.
Generally I agrre with you that derating must be provided.
Is it necessary to provide Cable Ampacity Derating factors for the ambient temperature of 105 deg.F or 40 deg.C inside Chemical Plant Building. ( conductor 90degC)
I am in Canada where Canadian Electrical Code provides factors 0.87-0.90 but other engineers are not accepting that idea.

For large Capacitor Banks, like 300MVA, 69kV a special breaker must be used - SF-6, vacuum, oil C.B. etc.
What is going on for the capacitor bank 300kVA, connected to MCC 600Volts ? What type of breaker must be used ?
Most capacitors are designed to operate at 135% of their kvar ratings. I am finding for that situation 1.25 factor must be provided.
Also, some manufacturers suggested cable sizes for their capacitor banks. I re-calculated their cables and I found that 1.25 factor is included, othewise cables...
For the calculation of the 200kVA Capacitor Bank Cable Size
I started by :
Amp = 1.35 x 200 kVA / 1.73 x 600 Volts
After that, that Amp I multiplied by 1.25
Some people working with me is is trying to say that we don't need a another multiplication (by 1.25), what I can not accept.
