    ? Flanged or threaded ends

There are other more complex issues between the differences in threaded and flanged valves. Typically flanged valves are used for high pressure and temperature due to better sealing. There are too many unknowns with threaded valves, when I spec a SS valve I do not allow threads due to galling...

API Horizontal Split vs Horizontal Ring Section (stacked) Pump

I am looking at purchasing a 1600'TDH 350 USGPM flow pump. The quotes cover horizontal split, at a much higher initial capital cost and horizontal stacked pumps. I understand the stacked units are higher in maintenance down time which may off set the initial capital. Are there any other...

    316 L SS vs 304 SS

if you are welding on this material you will find that the 304ss material at the weld zone is little better than carbon steel. You will need to go with a 304L or 316L. You could also go witha dual rated 316/316L material.

In one of his previous columns he made reference to a site which had graphic slides, movies etc. of fluid flows around various shapes and in piping. You might try him to see if...

    Hydrostatic pressure rise

Why is it that the propane or butane are not reaching their equilibrium, i.e. reaching vapor pressure at the temperature. If you initially fill the line to a pressure above the vapor pressure the line pressure will drop to the vapor presure for that gas temperature. Conversely once the gas is...
