Getting "Internal error: memory access violation" At File Open.

Gary, We had this problem in the past often enought. For a long time we were not able to open any large assemblies. What we finally did was: 1- Change the memory of XP. I don't understand much about this, but the idea is that whatever computer you have, XP only reach up to 1.5G of memory...

    time saving

Well, we certaily use referencies so that we only load the final part in every item and not lines, planes, sketch etc At the beginning we also use facets, but them dismiss it because when we load the assemblies is always to work with it, and facets are worth only to visualise and make pictures...

    time saving

Hello all, Using NX2 under TC9.1.2.10 We work with big assemblies up to 12000 parts. My boss insists on having the machine we design totally assamble, which means at some point we have to open the complete assembly. This is about half an hour waiting time, and longer when we have some saving...

    Moving into Teamcenter any advice?

As an example of things going the wrong way, after two years we are still trying to get TC to work properly. Therefore, everybody here is rigth. Help is needed, but not expert UG help but TC expert help. We have had around people very good with NX and often enought they told us "this works in...

    high quality image

Thanks for all the help. We finally manage to get something good enough using the visualization menu (no extra licence needed for that) It isn't perfect, but adjusting the size to A0 we can keep good definition even printing large size posters. However the jpg file was 7MB, not all that easy to...

    high quality image

Thanks Tim. I guess we'll have to get something like that if we get more jobs of this kind.

    high quality image

I've seen in this forum something about high quality images, but what I need to know is how to do it. I'm using the visualize shape toolbar, but can't manage it.Do you need a special package or it is with in the standard UG?. By the way, I'm working under NX2 and what my client wants is to...

    Use of WAVE and Teamcenter

I think (and hope) you are right Jay. That's the version we'll be upgrading to in the near future. UGS people told us the same than you, that many of the problems we have could be easely solved just by doing that!! See you around in the forum!!

    Use of WAVE and Teamcenter

Thanks Jay, now I see my post sounded far too negative. If we got Teamcenter is because we knew we needed some PDM tool if we wanted to be capable of managing all the information. I do think we are better with than without, but is getting far too long to start it out, and we didn't really need...

    Use of WAVE and Teamcenter

I don´t know exactly what Teamcenter Express is. I suppose it might be a "light" version of Teamcenter?. Anyway, we have been trying to implement Teamcenter for about two years, and is not yet running properly. It is easy to say, but the most important thing is to know what you really want to...

    Use of WAVE and Teamcenter

The real problem I know of with WAVE is that it is nearly impossible to import to Teamcenter files you already have in native UG containing WAVE. Apart from that, we have found plenty of weird things happening to us since we changed to Teamcenter environment. We could exchange some oddities if...

cast & machined parts best practice

Thanks Gieter, I quite agree with your philosophy, but as I said before we don't like using WAVE within Teamcenter. But you might prove us wrong Do you have any experience with Teamcenter, or you only use native UG?

cast & machined parts best practice

Thanks Tim, Not using WAVE sounds good to me. I've been told it can fail and cause problems when using UG within Teamcenter!!

cast & machined parts best practice

Hello everybody. NX2 + Teamcenter My company has recently decided to keep a better track on the casting of the parts we design. From now on we'll have drawings "as cast" as well as "as machined" (with different numbers) for a given component. I roughly know the bit about linking the two...
